'This feels like a mistake': James Corden's hilarious mid-air freak-out

HE'S persuaded everyone from Michelle Obama to Justin Bieber to take part in his famous Carpool Karaoke, often with hilarious results.

But on Thursday's The Late Late Show it was James Corden who was forced out of his comfort zone, having a mid-air freak-out before jumping out of an aeroplane with none other than Tom Cruise.

The hilarious segment showed a reluctant Corden put through his paces by Cruise, who is famous for doing his own stunts in action films.

"I'll be honest I'm terrified. This feels like a mistake," Corden admitted as he was given a crash course at an airport by Cruise.

As they practiced how to glide, Corden revealed his biggest fear was being a sidenote in history if their stunt went horribly wrong.

The worst problem is in all of this is if we both die I will get zero press," Corden said. "I mean I will be a footnote. The story will be 'Tom Cruise dies; also that guy who occasionally drives around in a car."'

Inside the plane, Cruise half-heartedly attempted to reassure Corden, telling him the "chances are we are going to make it".

But the joking abruptly ended when it came time for Corden to jump out of the plane, with the comedian officially losing it.

"Oh my god, Oh f**k, oh f**k," Corden swore before jumping out of the plane alongside Cruise.

Corden's jump was noticeably less graceful than Cruise's, with the comedian landing on his knees and face planting while the Hollywood hunt managed to land on his feet.
