The photo that proves Jason Bourne is back in action

Matt Damon will return to play CIA assassin Jason Bourne for the fifth film in the series.

"First day of principal photography complete and happy to report, BOURNE is back!" tweeted Frank Marshall, who executive produced all of the Bourne movies.

Marshall tweeted a photo of a shirtless, fit-looking Matt Damon on set.

The as yet untitled fifth Bourne film will see Damon return to play the iconic role.

Jeremy Renner starred as Bourne in the fourth movie - The Bourne Legacy.

The movie, directed by Paul Greengrass, will also see the return of Julia Stiles as Nicky Parsons.

Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel and Alicia Vikander have also been confirmed as cast members. It's due for release in 2016.
