The house from The Castle is up for sale

As Darryl Kerrigan once said, "a man's home is his castle".

And now the castle he was referring to in the hit 1997 film The Castle is up for sale.

Currently located at 3 Dagonet Street in Strathmore, Victoria, the house will go to auction on Wednesday 26 July at 2pm.

"It's just the house that's for sale, it's not the land," Rebecca Jones from Brad Teal real estate in Essendon explained to news.com.au.

"It's for sale for someone to relocate."

The house has three bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge and a bathroom, and according to Ms. Jones it has "endless possibilities".

"It could be for someone for a first home, or maybe it could become a tourist attraction and someone could do it up a bit and rent it out for Airbnb. Who knows, you might want to take it up to Bonnie Doon."

So how much will Darryl Kerrigan's castle set you back?

"Typically for relocation houses, you're looking at anything between the $1000 to $10,000 mark which these houses typically go for," Ms. Jones said.

"But given it is an auction, there are endless possibilities."
