* Spoiler alert: This story contains spoilers for Game of Thrones' seventh season.
Game of Thrones' seventh season may be over, but theories are still circulating as fans try to determine where the series could be heading.
The finale of season seven saw the White Walkers destroy the wallthat had kept them out of Westeros, allowing them to march forward with their army of the dead.
A theory laid out by reddit user twerkmileyyy makes a case for the reason The Night King is invading Westeros - and it's not just for purely death and destruction.
According to the theory, The Night King is trying to reach a lake called the God's Eye. In the world of George RR Martin's novels, the God's Eye is where the Children of the Forest (who created the White Walkers) brokered a peace deal with humans.
There is an island in the centre of the lake called the Isle of Faces, known for having magical powers. As the theory claims, The Night King's aim is to get to the Isle of Faces to bring his army of the dead back to life.
"Ultimately I think [the Night King's] end goal is to reach the Isle of Faces and use its magical properties to give life to his undead army," wrote the reddit user.
The theory is supported by the God's Eye's location - it sits close to Eastwatch by the Sea, which is where the White Walkers brought down the wall in the finale of Season 7.
Another reddit user linked this idea to the theory that claims Bran Stark is the Night King.

"Bran orchestrates everything to bring peace to Westeros. And the only way he can do it is by becoming the Night King, raising an army of undead and marching them to the Gods Eye where he will destroy the ancient COTF magic, and it turns everyone from wights back into fully healthy Humans, exactly as they were the moment of their death," wrote baatezu.
Could this be where Game of Thrones is headed? We'll just have to wait until season eight to find out. And that may not be until 2019.
