They lost the case and were instructed to pay costs. The costs judgment was released in April. The Ridges sought to appeal the High Court decision.
In his judgment on the case in February, Justice Murray Gilbert said Ridge's claim failed "at the first hurdle".
In his costs judgment in April, the judge said the Ridges were offered a number of settlements before the High Court trial. He awarded scaled costs of $73,232, plus disbursements of $31,610, and a 50 per cent increase for any costs incurred after January 1, 2013. Parore said the whole legal process had cost a fortune and while he was pleased with the judge's decision, the costs awarded were only a drop in the bucket.
A friend close to Parore said the former international cricket star is fed up and feels he has no alternative but to file bankruptcy proceedings against Sally Ridge to recover the costs she owes. "Adam felt the whole litigation was pointless and lacking in merit."
In Parore's view, it was all completely unnecessary, the friend said. Parore had offered Ridge a number of settlement options but she had turned them down.
Calls to Sally Ridge were not returned.

Forget about George Clooney meeting his future mother-in-law this week. All Black captain Richie McCaw, who had the weight of a test match on his shoulders last Saturday, played Prince Charming too when he introduced his parents to the family of girlfriend Gemma Flynn in Hamilton.
A source close to the pair told The Diary the meeting had long been anticipated. "Gemma has already met Richie's sister, Joanna, on a number of occasions as she's been staying in Christchurch since January. But it turned out both mums [Margaret McCaw and Michelle Flynn] are teachers and have a lot in common," said the friend.
"Gem's soooo pleased to be back and looking forward to spending more time with Richie. She missed him like crazy while she was away playing hockey with the Black Sticks at the World Cup.
"Richie's been to quite a few hockey games and watched her play."
Things are evidently getting serious. The couple are understood to have been dating for 18 months. Only question now is, will Richie put a ring on it?
Another shuffle
TVNZ has instigated another newsroom shuffle. The Diary broke the news that current affairs show 20/20 was dumping the local content quotient and reshuffling or releasing staff. Emma Keeling is now going to Seven Sharp and Erin Conroy will join One News.
The current affairs editor job, held by Briar McCormack, has been disestablished and she becomes executive producer of current affairs show Sunday and will oversee 20/20, reporting to Graeme Muir.
Muir takes the reins of Sunday and Fair Go, but how is his job different from that of head of news and current affairs John Gillespie, who is in charge of online and all daily programmes? Is Muir effectively a second head of news?
Pop export about to launch
Move over Lorde. There's another pop export on the market, according to a top New York music magazine.
Indira Force, one half of pop duo Doprah, is "New Zealand's next art-pop star," says Spin.
The Christchurch-based muso revealed her cute and creepy anime princess persona in the Stranger People video, released this week, and it was given sweeping praise by the magazine. Stephie Key would be a fan.
Doprah, comprising Force on vocals and Steven Marr as producer, "have got their own wild thing going on, and Ms Force is aptly named," says Spin.
"All hail the arrival of another odd-pop export from New Zealand."
Expat Kiwis in headlines
Kiwi singer Jon Stevens, 51, has been doting on his fiancee Jodhi Meares, 43, this week at her luxury $2 million Point Piper apartment.
The ex-wife of James Packer smashed into three cars while driving home on Saturday and was reportedly three times over the limit. Sydney press have breathlessly reported the couple had a lovers' tiff before the incident.
Dixon up for award
Scott Dixon has been nominated this week in the best driver category for the ESPY Awards, a yearly contest acknowledging excellence in sports performance by American sports network ESPN.
The Kiwi is up against fellow IndyCar star Ryan Hunter-Reay, Hot Rod legend John Force and Nascar's Dale Earnhardt jnr and Jimmie Johnson. The ceremony will be hosted by American rapper Drake next month.
