All Black flanker Victor Vito, 27, and his wife Amber, 25, have welcomed their first child.

It's understood to be a boy but the high-profile pair are determined to keep all details under wraps.

A media rep for the Hurricanes rugby star confirmed Vito is a new dad but could not reveal more.

"Vic is keen to keep the details private at the moment," Hannah Fleming told Summer Diary.

The couple, who married a year ago in Nelson, are expected to have negotiated a deal with a magazine for their baby story, much like their wedding spread.

Amber did not return our calls, but her friend Angelisa Nickel may have given the game away.

She congratulated Vito on social media for her svelte post-baby body, adding, "Can't wait to meet Karlos".

This week, Amber took to Instagram to reveal she is two weeks into the postpartum period.

"The jelly belly is on the way out ... tummy wraps, walks and breast feeding are where it's at! #baby #body #recovery #startline".

While there are no pics of bubs yet, Vito has posted a picture of Amber holding the newborn at the beach.

When ya gotta go ...

She missed out on a Golden Globe for best original song, but teen Kiwi pop star Lorde gained the ear of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, 62, at his exclusive awards after-party bash on Sunday night.

A-listers Jennifer Lopez, Keira Knightley, Cara Delevingne, Selma Hayek, Kate Hudson, Amy Adams and Benedict Cumberbatch rubbed shoulders at the private party hosted by the Weinstein Company and Netflix.

Lorde swapped her black, custom-made Narcisco Rodriguez ensemble for a sexy white bra top and black pants. She ditched the pricey Neil Lane diamond necklace to reveal some cleavage, and bared her midriff.

The 18-year-old Kiwi arrived with BFF Taylor Swift, 25, actress Jaime King, 35, and the Haim sisters, of pop rock band Haim.

But an over-the-top security operation for a bathroom break raised eyebrows.

Swift had to use the loo and started a dance train with her gal pals to the ladies room.

Her four-man security team swung into action, standing guard over the luxury portable toilets while Swift, Lorde and co were inside, stopping anyone else from going in.

"After waiting several minutes for the group to exit, one of the other partygoers was overheard asking, 'Is the Pope using the bathroom?'," People magazine scoffed.

The girls emerged, according to the Daily Mail, with an official shouting, "Clear the way" when Taylor signalled the bathroom break was over.

Sheesh, talk about diva. We hope Our Lorde doesn't get used to such theatrics.

Later, the group continued their girls' night at the CAA party, and the InStyle and Warner Bros bash.

Exes' cringe encounter

They had a bitter marital breakup in 2009 after 19 years together and both have moved on with new partners and new lives. But when Summer Diary spied Simon Dallow and Alison Mau at the gala premiere of Spiegelworld Empire last Thursday, even we were surprised by their frosty relations.

Dallow was in the queue to purchase beverages and did not realise his ex-wife was in the line behind him. Quite literally directly behind him.

He turned around momentarily and caught Ali's eye, but both steadfastly looked in opposite directions as if the other did not exist. Awkward!

Mau and her fiancee, Karleen Edmonds, who have been engaged nearly two years, joined a small coterie of VIPs who attended the opening night performance.

They are understood to be tying the knot shortly. Mau turns 50 on Valentine's Day and rumour has it the party could be a double celebration.

Dallow and his long-term partner, Louise Collenbrander, who are on holiday this week, are not expected to make the guest list.

They made a quick exit from last week's circus to avoid another uncomfortable encounter.

Piri to say bye to nan

Former All Black Piri Weepu, who relocated to London Welsh rugby club last year, returns to New Zealand today to farewell his beloved grandmother, who has died after an illness.

"Today was one of my toughest days ever. Before running out today I got the news this beautiful woman passed away," Weepu wrote on Instagram on Monday.

"My grandmother who has been like another mother to me and my cousins growing up. Not a nan, a mother.

"I guess the man up above needed one of his angels to come and be with him. You will never be forgotten nan."

He joked that she would be evicted from heaven if she carried on her colourful ways. "No dancing on tables, swearing or giving the bird otherwise you'll get kicked out."
