Though the show was filmed earlier this year, the contestants found out the winners at the same time as the public last night. Chris and Bex says winning is "unreal".
"It's still sinking in to be honest," says Bex. "We worked our butts off and cooked our hearts out."
"I'm not a nervous flyer, but I was sitting in Queenstown airport yesterday literally shaking," says Chris. "Everyone thought I must have been the most scared flyer ever."
Bex says the recognition that has come from filming a reality show is something that she's still getting used to. "The support has been huge... On the plane yesterday the people sitting behind us recognised us and asked for a selfie. I got up to go to the loo and when I came back the guy was like, 'Bex!' It's exciting."
While the pair says watching themselves on the show was a strange experience, they're happy with how things panned out.
"The producers have done an amazing job based on last night," says Chris. "They've portrayed everyone very honestly, and I just love the way that they've managed to portray us as us."
