The Block's launch date revealed

The launch date for the latest season of The Block has been revealed - and Blockheads don't have to wait long at all.

The Block NZ: Villa Wars premieres on Tuesday, September 29, TV3 confirmed today.

The home renovation show will air twice a week, with the second episode screening at the same time on Wednesday nights.

The latest season of the show, hosted by Mark Richardson and Shelley Ferguson, features four teams of two renovating villas in Sandringham.

Each team will receive any post-reserve auction profits. The duo with the highest profit will be crowned champions and pocket a further $100,000.

This season's teams include North Shore couple Hayden Campbell and Jamie Johns, Taranaki couple Cat Glass and Jeremy Hill, Christchurch pair Brooke Thompson and Mitch Davies and Hamilton sisters Sarah and Minanne Kong.
