Five Kiwi bands are ready to battle it out for a chance to win MTV's Kickstart competition.
After a three-week nationwide search the Hot Grits, Midnight Youth, Happy Place, the Dukes, and rapper/singer Nytmare made the shortlist of up-and-coming bands who can win a $20,000 first prize anda chance to launch their musical career.
All five play at Studio on K' Rd tomorrow night. The judges, including Mikey Havoc from bFM and Damian Alexander from Blindspott, will pick a winner. That winner will then take on five Australian bands in a Trans-Tasman showdown - the Bledisloe Cup of music, if you will.
