Buying concert tickets can be a wallet draining experience these days. While some balk at the upwardly creeping prices, for others a hefty ticket cost is a small price to pay to see their favourite musician or band performing live.
After all, you can't put a price on experience andfans have often waited years and years to see their musical heroes perform.
Now that the cash from the recorded music business has totally crashed, touring has become the main source of revenue for musicians.
So how is that working out for them? Pretty, pretty, good... providing you made this list.
Pollstar, a concert industry trade publication, crunched the data from concert promoters and venue managers to came up with this Top 20 list of the highest grossing worldwide touring acts right now. Artists were ranked and ordered according to their average box office gross per city worldwide.
And while it's no surprise to see so many legacy acts hauling it in, the list does contain a few surprises.
And if you thought Beyonce would be the easy claimant to this crown... well, you'd be wrong...
