Taylor Swift appears to hit out at Kim and Kanye in her latest single

Taylor Swift has released the new single from upcoming sixth studio album, Reputation, titled Call It What You Want.

In the accompanying lyric video, Swift can be seen in a selection of photos, potentially taken by her boyfriend, up-and-coming British actor Joe Alwyn, who she has been dating for some time. Fans have speculated that the song's romantic lyrics are most likely about the 26-year-old himself.

Unlike many of Swift's previous high-profile relationships, the couple are staying well away from the spotlight, and have not been pictured together publicly, reports Telegraph UK.

Swift herself took a lengthy break from social media earlier in 2017, referenced in Call It What You Want with the lyric "Nobody's heard from me for months."

Previous singles, including Gorgeous, ...Ready For It?, and the vengeful Look What You Made Me Do have been released gradually over the last few months.

The song's reference to "drama queens" also appears to allude to her public feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

In 2016, an online debate sparked between the three parties, after Swift denied giving West approval to use lyrics about her in his song, Famous. West's wife Kim Kardashian claimed to have a video of a phone call between the two, in which Swift can be heard discussing the song.

In Call It What You Want, 27-year-old Swift sings "All the liars are calling me one", possibly in reference to the controversy.

However, the majority of the song appears to be about Alwyn, including the line "I recall late November [...] I said would you run away with me?" which is thought to hint at when the couple first got together.

Swift is well-known for using her relationships as songwriting material, having written about her break-ups with Calvin Harris in 2016, and her short fling with 36-year-old British actor Tom Hiddleston.

Reputation is due for release on November 10.
