You may trust what they have to say on the telly and radio each morning or night, but do you trust them enough to feed Mr Twinkles this summer?
A Herald-DigiPoll survey has revealed which media personalities - if any at all - New Zealanders would trust most to feedtheir cat while they were away on holiday.
The poll, which had a sample size of 750 and ran from December 4-14, listed five well-known TV and radio hosts to choose from.
It found Seven Sharp host Toni Street was the most trusted to keep the beloved family pet alive, at 32.9 per cent.
Her co-host Mike Hosking, also a breakfast radio host at NewstalkZB, was at the opposite end of the spectrum at 7.3 per cent.
Bridging the gap was TV3 and RadioLive morning show host Paul Henry (15.1), TV3 journalist and Story host Heather du Plessis-Allan (14.4) and NewstalkZB early morning host Rachel Smalley (13).
While 6.2 per cent of the poll participants said they did not know or refused to answer, 11.1 per cent said they would rely on none of the five media personalities listed.
The interviews were conducted using computer assisted telephone interviewing - using the random digit dialling approach to generate a geographically and demographically representative sample - and the poll was weighted based on Statistic New Zealand population estimates.
