Deciding: Fleet Foxes or SZA? That's not a decision I want to have to make. But that's what I'm faced with in the overwhelming summer of music coming up. Both those acts are playing on January 9, and it's just one of the many double bookings music fans face. Here are some other decisions coming up: Khalid or Lorde on November 12? Paul McCartney or Future Islands on December 16? Vince Staples or Six60 on January 13? And Splore or The National on February 25? Too many shows is, of course, a great problem to have. But someone needs to roll some dice: I can't make up my mind.
Listening: "Check this out," said a friend who listens to podcasts approximately 100 per cent of her day. "It has the best ending of any podcast I've listened to." But that, friends, is all you need to know before queuing up the LA Times' latest podcast hit. Don't Google it, or read reviews, or talk to your friends. Just find a quiet spot, put your headphones on and listen, because it's as compelling as any story on any medium I've invested in this year.
Jamming: Nineties nostalgia is so hot right now. I'd barely recovered from the first I Love the 90s show in June when the line-up for the next event was announced, featuring Snap, C&C Music Factory and Snap - the soundtrack of my life aged 13. And this weekend is another throwback show of the best kind, with Friday Jams hitting Spark Arena. Headlined by Craig David, Sunday's show is from the minds behind ZM's popular Friday afternoon show and features Craig David, Ne-Yo, Kelis, Sean Paul, Mario and Fatman Scoop. This is all great and you should go.
Navigating: Armageddon is on this weekend, and judging by past events, the Greenlane Events Centre is about to turn into a human bath. So here's what you need to do: plan your day, be prepared to miss some stuff, work out your must-sees and must-dos, and get there early to do them. Be prepared to queue, and keep up your snack intake, because trust me, just walking around Armageddon can be a mega-mission. But there are highlights aplenty. You can get Nathan Fillion to sign your Firefly box set, jam Forza 7 on the new Xbox One X console, take a selfie with Harry Potter star Tom Felton, or you could just dress up as your favourite Ninja Turtle. That's what I'd do.
