Amy Adams speaks about playing Camille Preaker in the upcoming miniseries 'Sharp Objects'.

Here's five things to binge-watch from the comfort of your couch this winter weekend.

      Sharp Objects (Neon):

Perhaps one of the most highly anticipated shows of the year, Sharp Objects looks set to replicate the success of last year's popular mini-series Big Little Lies. Based on the book by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, this eight part series follows Camille Preaker (Amy Adams), an alcoholic newspaper journalist, who returns to her small hometown to report on some missing children. While she is there Preaker is forced to confront some very uncomfortable truths about her own childhood.

      Harlots, season 2 (Lightbox):

Liv Tyler joins the cast of Harlots this season as Lady Fitz, a wealthy socialite about to shake up London. Following two rival madams in 18th century London, season two delves deeper into the vicious feud between the pair. Full of lavish period costumes and drama aplenty, it looks to be a gripping season.

Jim Jefferies: This is me now (Netflix):

If you're in need of a good laugh, this is the show for you. Known best for using his comedy to take a stand on gun control, this third Netflix special from the Australian comedian gets more personal as he tackles fatherhood, sex tapes and his career. It promises "chuckles, giggles, yuk-yuks, snickers, guffaws, and of course, titters". Available from tomorrow.

      Returning Citizens (TVNZ OnDemand):

This documentary follows a group of US prisoners hoping for a second chance after being released. Returning Citizens shows an array of people's experiences with the prison system and how that impacts life after. Highlighting the issues associated with mass incarceration, this show provides a different take on the true crime genre that's become so popular. Available July 12.

      Succession (Neon):

Everyone loves a good story of sibling rivalry, especially one wrapped up in extreme wealth. Succession follows the story of billionaire media mogul Logan Roy and his four children. Approaching his 80th birthday, speculation is rife that Roy is set to retire as CEO of his media and entertainment empire. Who will lead the family business when he steps down? That's the billion dollar question.
