Corkery is channelling her past demons on to the dance floor by choosing Higher Ground Drug Rehabilitation Trust as her charity - the organisation that helped her on her way to "six years sober".
Her partner, Kerry Fraser, is a drug and alcohol counsellor whom Corkery met in rehab. "He is pushing me on to the dance floor as taking yourself out of your comfort zone is a key part of recovery.
"He really appreciates the fact I am facing my fears and is hoping my brain can communicate with my arse and feet."
Corkery's dance partner is handsome Matt Tatton-Brown, who is enjoying putting Pam through her ballroom paces. And it's Tatton-Brown who made the connection to the Brit singer who was a surprise winner of Britain's Got Talent.
"He loves the fact he has got me," Corkery says. "He thinks it's like having the Susan Boyle of the competition."
Spy agrees Corkery could be the surprise package - she may have a trick or two up her sleeve from her wild years of "dancing on tables with flaming shots in her mouth".
