Three teams are in the running for supremacy on My Kitchen Rules New Zealand and the trio of pairings will battle it out for a $100,000 prize package.
The semifinal will be broadcast on TV2 tomorrow night, and the final will screen on Tuesday.
What viewers don't know is thecontestants finished filming months ago.
To help keep the winners a secret, two endings were filmed so no one, not even the finalists, knows the chosen outcome until the end of Tuesday's 90-minute final.
Spy understands the long wait has been tricky for the contestants.
Wellington besties Stella Robertson-Hale and Jessica Rolinson-Purchase told Spy: "It's just been a lot of secret-keeping. It was easier that people didn't know we were on the show until episode 11, so we weren't hounded by friends and family wanting to know how far we got until November."
Fellow semifinalists, Jay Wanakore and Sarah Chase - who have relocated from Waikato to Auckland - found it hard to keep their mouths shut around family.
Auckland foodies William Lockie and Zoe Ellwood told Spy: "Although it has been a very long wait for the results, it is nothing in comparison to how hard it was to actually make it through to the finals."
Lockie and Ellwood are buzzing about the experience and the friends they have made on the show. The Wellington besties may take a trip to Disneyland if they win and Wanakore and Chase are making cooking a career with their website jayandsarahnz.com.
If they win, they will release a cookbook, buy an SUV for their growing family and the money will come in handy for their wedding, planned for early next year.
TVNZ has announced Wanakore is joining the TV One Whanau Living team, which is back for season three next year.
