Walker and his brother, Andy, shared a $27,500 profit after the auction of the house they had renovated on the show. The pair also won the People's Choice award - judged by viewers' votes - after which they scored a brand new Mazda 6.
The Walker brothers were cult heroes on season two of The Block NZ, thanks to Pete's handsome good looks and the pair's classic Kiwi humour.
Publicity material for the series stated: "Pete's a lady's man - just look at him. Smooth mover!"
It added the former plumber aspired to eventually fly helicopters for a living.
After his starring turn on the series, Pete was invited to join Cleo Bachelor of the Year, but he told the Herald on Sunday in October 2013 that he turned it down.
"I'm not into that sort of thing. I'll leave it up to the posers. I wouldn't like that sort of attention."
The Walkers' fame means they are still popular with advertisers.
Last week they posted to Facebook their relationship with The Block NZ sponsor Haier: " We've teamed up with Haier to have some good clean fun and share nifty tricks for making everyday chores easy as. #HaierHomeHacks #jobdone#theblocknz"
