It's not just the fancy footwork on Dancing With the Stars that has tongues wagging.

The bumping, grinding and physical closeness between some of our favourite celebs and their professional dance partners have also inspired plenty of water-cooler conversations over the past two weeks.

And the intimacy factor will ramp

up another notch on tonight's "Latin Romance" special.

As contestants prepare to unleash their inner South American flair, Spy asked their real-life partners how they felt about the close bonds being formed on the dance
floor and practice studio.

Jay-Jay Feeney's husband, Dominic Harvey, told Spy: "Jay-Jay and Enrique's [Enrique Johns] dance tonight is the rumba, which is a slow, romantic dance. I called into the studio to watch them practise and happened to see them rehearsing a move called 'the snake', that sees Jay-Jay's hands touch Enrique's buttocks and inner thighs before her head brushes past his crotch.

"By the time they do this on screen they would have practiced this move so many times that Jay-Jay probably knows more about Enrique's prostate and testicles than his family doctor."

Siobhan Marshall's boyfriend, comedian Millen Baird, played it cute, saying: "I watched her dancing the tango live. I couldn't stop smiling. Couldn't take my mind off her, she looked like a giraffe with lipstick."

Re-emerging sex symbol Simon Barnett's wife Jodi told Spy: "I can't wait to see [tonight's show]. It has been my dream to have Simon dance because he has always been so shy. I am really looking forward to doing the dance with him when it's all over.

"Trust me, Vanessa [Cole] must be a superb dance teacher." Ben Barrington's girlfriend, Kristie Fergus, said although she is "proud" of her man's dance floor moves, watching him strut his stuff with Krystal Stuart was taking time to get used to.

"It's hard sometimes to watch your partner getting all sexy with such a beautiful lady, but the amount of time and dedication he has taken out into learning how to dance is so incredibly full on, that I have to take my hat off to him, to all of them," she said.

Colin Mathura-Jeffree's partner Craig Brown told Spy: "Women throw themselves at Colin all the time, it comes with the territory. The way I see it they do look sexy on the dance floor together but it is me he wants so I'm really relaxed about it. I have a few sexy moves of my own so I have nothing to worry about."

The wife of former pro boxer Shane Cameron, Tara Puke, admitted her man's starring role had provided her with some peace. "I'm loving having all of these extra hours to myself while Shane is training," she said. "Dancing with the Stars is a competition, and you have to do whatever you need to in order to put your best foot forward."
