Spice Girl Mel B to host during The Hits' 'Nothing But The 90's Weekend'

Spice Girl Mel B will be hitting New Zealand's airwaves this weekend as The Hits Radio Station celebrates 90s music.

The star is a coup for the station's 'Nothing But The 90's Weekend' that kicks off at 12 noon tomorrow.

Mel B isn't in New Zealand, instead she will do her 12pm-3pm shift from overseas.

There have been rumours that the Spice Girls, which also included Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Emma Bunton, could be getting back together, with Mel B fuelling those rumours when she appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on August 1, saying "it's about time".

As for her stint kicking off the station's 90s celebration, Mel B says she is looking forward to it, and even had a dig about New Zealand possibly changing its flag.

"The 90's for me was obviously all about the Spice Girls, rocking my big hair, my big platform shoes, and being with my other four ladies demolishing the world, well kind of demolishing it, performing throughout the world.

"Now I know Geri, Victoria, Mel and Emma, we all got our fair share of attention back in the 90s and we probably flew the Union Jack all around the world, proudly, but I can't believe you kiwis are trying to get rid of it from your flag? What is that about?!"

She was yet to visit downunder but it was on her radar, she said.

"I haven't been to New Zealand. I've heard so many beautiful things about New Zealand, especially the wine so I'm going to have to get myself down there soon."
