Pippa Middleton and James Matthews are now married - and Spencer Matthews, younger brother of James and reality television's bad boy, will be thrust back into the limelight. It's a place he knows well.

The ex-Etonian and notorious London socialite - who shot to fame after appearing on the E4 scripted reality series Made in Chelsea - will no doubt have been asked to be on his best behaviour but, with the bubbles flowing, how long will that charade last?

From his disastrous appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! to his passion for motorbikes, here are 10 things you may not know about Spencer Matthews.

1) He has reportedly been asked to 'tone down' his best man speech

In July last year, it was announced that Spencer's millionaire brother, James, and the Duchess of Cambridge's sister, Pippa, had got engaged.

The 41-year-old hedge-fund manager millionaire reportedly spent a decade wooing 33-year-old Pippa and her family, before presenting her with an engagement ring worth £250,000. The pair had only been dating for a year when James proposed, though they have been friends for many years.

So, there is absolutely no way that James is going to let a misjudged gag ruin the big day. A friend of Spencer's told the Daily Star: "Spencer has been given a last-minute warning to keep the speech clean.

"He isn't allowed to give a traditional best man's speech in case he shows anyone up in front of the royals.

"He isn't allowed to make any jokes or anything."

2) He didn't read the contract for The Jump

When asked by Heat magazine if he had checked out the paperwork before signing up, the reality television star said: "No, not at all. There must be one with the show, but I didn't really read the contract, I just signed it.

"If you break your leg, you break your leg. I think you can only blame yourself - you must be doing something wrong if you hurt yourself."

3) He has written a book (IKR!)

Yes, that's right, Spencer Matthews has done something most of us only ever talk about and written a book. And to think he fitted it all in around his commitments to London's exacting social circuit.

To be fair, though, Confessions of a Chelsea Boy is full of eye-popping anecdotes and quotes. Come to think of it, this memoir is actually far more interesting than the vast majority of celebrity churn-out jobs published every year. Bravo, Spencer (or whoever it is that wrote your book).

"She made it clear that she was really into me. It seemed reasonable as I was wearing my favourite shirt."

"It was Fear and Loathing in the West Country."

4) He is going out with Vogue Williams

The Irish model met Spencer on The Jump earlier this year and have been dating since.

Williams recently posted an image on Instagram of them both with the caption "Bye bye beeeeeefa, it's been a LOT of fun! @SpencerMatthews"

5) He was the star of Made in Chelsea

Spencer was one of the original stars of the E4 structured-reality show, which is now on its 15th series.

The cameras followed Spencer et al as they cavorted around London's most desirable postcodes, drinking, hooking up and saying things such as, "In terms of sharking, Andy's like a Great White." Spencer did actually say that once.

But whereas the other original MiC cast drifted away to pursue a music career (Caggie), marry and divorce a rapper (Millie) or start a clothing label (Proudlock), Spencer has always been integral to the success of the show and has been lured back to cause trouble time and again.

He is the Machiavellian star around which everyone else in south-west London seems to orbit and he has had on-screen relationships with, among many others, Funda, Caggie, Louise, Kimberley and Lucy.

It is understood that he has taken a back seat in recent series to avoid embarrassment to the Middletons. Good thing he signed up for The Jump, then.

6) He had his own series called The Bachelor

In 2012, Spencer appeared in Channel 5 series The Bachelor, in which 24 single ladies competed for his attention. It must have been a terribly humbling experience.

At the end of the series, Spencer chose Khloe Evans to be his girlfriend but the relationship didn't last.

Khloe was seen days after The Bachelor finished kissing The Only Way is Essex hunk Tom Pearce.

"I don't want anything to do with Spencer now - the show's finished and that's it. I'm single," she added, rubbing salt into the wound.

And fair play to Spencer, he kept his dignity. "I'd like to think I was a gentlemen," he said.

"I'd never leave anyone at the airport or just lose touch on purpose.

"As my contract had determined for me I had the whole thing on ice and unfortunately she went out and pulled Tom Pearce, so I don't think she deserves a second chance."

7) He was thrown off I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

Spencer was the last to arrive and the first to leave the 2015 series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

In one of the ITV show's most memorable moments, presenters Ant and Dec unexpectedly announced that Spencer had left the show but refused to offer any details, leading to wild speculation across the Internet.

It soon emerged, however, that Spencer had been forbidden from continuing when producers discovered that he was using steroids.

In a statement, a contrite Spencer said: "Shortly after I arrived in Australia I told the production team that I was taking a steroid-based medication that had begun some weeks ago."

"When I started taking this programme of pills it was in preparation for a charity boxing match which, ironically, never took place."

"My admission to the production team that I was still taking these pills led to the conclusion that it would be unsafe for me to stay in the jungle - a decision which I found extremely hard to stomach."

"I pushed back but ultimately the show's duty of care prevailed and bags had to be packed."

8) He doesn't find cocaine 'that shocking'

In 2012, Spencer was filmed allegedly snorting cocaine at a house party in Bath and in an interview with Cosmopolitan UK in 2015, he said: "I really don't think cocaine is that shocking... So many people do it."

In his book, Confessions of a Chelsea Boy, he wrote (or maybe told someone else to write): "I knew taking cocaine wasn't right... and like most parents, mine had warned me away from drugs. But sometimes people want to experience things for themselves."

9) He likes to party with Pippa Middleton's brother, James

Make sure these two aren't anywhere near the top table on Saturday.

Spencer posted a picture to his 502,000 followers on Instagram of he and James Middleton out partying together and it looks as if things get pretty wild.
