KEY POINTS:

Britney Spears

' love rat ex boyfriend

Adnan Ghalib

has reportedly confirmed he's in possession of a sex tape starring himself and the former American sweetheart.

The lens-lizard allegedly revealed to UK gossip mag

Heat

this week that "there is such a tape, but I won't discuss prices for hypothetical enquiries".

Such a gentleman.

The British snapper, who dated Spears for months during the last year (07/08), claims to own raunchy video footage of Spears, taken while they holidayed in Mexico - days after Spears was hospitalised following a

stand-off with cops

at her LA home.

A snitch tells British tabloid

The Sun

that the X-rated footage features the former Mickey Mouse starlet naked, "wearing just a pink wig".

Talk about ex-ploitation

Ghalib's timing couldn't be better. Call me cynical, but...

Spears has recently embarked on her meteoric return to the pop pen, and with a dodgy sex tape scandal looming on the horizon, her chances of gaining mucho column inches to help promote her wares in the tabloids couldn't be higher. But I doubt Ghalib had that in mind when he decided to do the dirty.

Let's face it, we all knew this stink would rear its ugly head again. There were rumbles that a Spears sex tape existed way back in 2007 - my question is: what took the snapper so long?

Ghalib has now warned that he's willing to cash in on the video footage, but only at "the right price".

"Unless there is a locked-in deal, I will go no further. I am not interested in selling out any other details about Britney," he said.

That'll comfort Brit Brit for sure. Especially when she's crying in her Weet-Bix as her naughty bits are emblazoned all over town.

Spears and Ghalib split earlier this year at the height of the singer's public meltdown. The snapper later went into hiding, claiming he'd received death threats from Spears' fans.

No comment as yet from Brit Brit's camp. Don't hold your breath.

Meanwhile...

Brit Brit has announced that she will "definitely tour" in 2009 to promote her new album,

Circus

.

Speaking to NYC radio station Z-100 earlier this week, she said she planned to tour "around the world". That'll be a world tour then. But who knows, what with Spears' lack of knowledge when it comes to geography...

Remember, this is the same American singer who famously said: "I get to go to a lot of overseas places, like Canada." Quickly followed by "Where the hell is Australia anyway?"

Genius. Chuck the girl a Navman.

Update:

Adnan Ghalib is now denying that he ever confessed to owning a Spears sex tape. He says: "There is no sex tape. I’m extremely upset and taking legal action.”

A snitch 'close to Brit Brit' tells goss website

E! News

that the

Heat

story is "completely false".

Spears' reps at Jive Records have so far not responded to any of the website's calls for comment.

Palin the class

Alaskan idiot and Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin's cunning masterplan to be in charge of the USA and all that she surveys is no laughing matter. No Siree. But Tina Fey's impersonation of the outspoken one is. Very.

Fey's bang-on take on the VP hopeful was a huge hit on US TV show

Saturday Night Live

a few weeks ago. It proved to be so popular, Fey decided to swing by for an encore.
