Sons of Zion, Kings in line up in free Bay gig

A free event for families in the Bay suburb of Arataki has lured some of big names in Kiwi music, and is expected to attract thousands of people.

Sons of Zion and Kings lead the line up for The Arataki Day Out, which is being held on Sunday, March 3 at Arataki Park, brings a great line-up of Kiwi musicians to the Bay.

Musician Kings, famed for his viral hit Don't Worry 'Bout It, has recently been top of the Kiwi iTunes chart with the song Send It. He produced it with The Hot Mess Express DJ duo comprised of ZM's drive time announcers Bree Tomasel and Clint Roberts.

The full programme for this free community event also includes pint sized hip hop star 12-year-old performer Lotima Nicholas - better known as General Fiyah, and social media star, comedian William Waiirua.

"It will be our third year giving back to the community this way, and this year will be our biggest ever," says promoter Pato Alvarez from Pato Entertainment.

"Some of New Zealand biggest bands are jumping on board for this amazing event, and we'll also have activities and games during the day, free sausage sizzles, and free lollies for all the kids as you can't have a party without lollies!"

The smoke and alcohol-free event promises even more family fun with bouncy castles, giveaways and competitions, as well as special appearances from some of New Zealand's biggest sport and social media influencers.

The day has been organised by Pato Entertainment and the Arataki Sports Club, who will be holding their Rugby junior registrations on the same day.

"This is for all the kids and families from all around the area, so please come and join us for a big family day out," Alvarez says.

Last year the event attracted 1500 children.
