Sinead O'Connor's Facebook page has been taken down following a series of troubling messages posted by the Irish singer-songwriter.
O'Connor received medical assistance this week after posting what appeared to be a suicide note on her verified Facebook page where she claimed to have "taken an overdose" following a "horrificset of betrayals".
"Well done guys, you've finally got rid of me," O'Connor said in the long message posted on Monday (AEDT).
"The last two nights finished me off. I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I'm at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name."
Irish police later confirmed the singer had been located safe and was undergoing treatment, although her condition was unclear.
In later posts, she criticises family members and accuses them of abandoning her.
"I never want to see or hear from any of you again. Why were you here when you're the ones who put me here????... Murderers. Liars. Hypocrites. All of you. You caused this," O'Connor said.
She also subsequently pleads with family to visit her in hospital while she is awake rather than waiting until she is asleep.
According to Facebook, O'Connor, who has four children, has been battling with her son, Jake, and ex-boyfriend Donal Lunny over the custody of her under-aged children.
She has accused them of illegally keeping her from seeing them.
It's reported that people close to the Nothing Compares 2U singer requested Facebook to take the page down.
