Even without the repetitive references to smoking weed, it's obvious rapper Shwayze likes to indulge in the wacky baccy. Why else would he let Cisco Adler - a so-called rocker, better known for his dating exploits than any musical pursuits - produce and mix his
entire album?
The result is uninspired, stoner rap, pleasant on first listen but quickly becoming dull.
Simple Jack Johnson-like guitar tabs provide the backing for much of the album, giving a relaxed, mellow flow that would make the album an ideal summer soundtrack - were it not for the puerile, tits and ass lyrics.
On the surface, Lazy Days could be a sweet, breezy melody. Until you hear Shwayze chant "Walking through Malibu, not a thing to do/Got to find a fine young little girl to screw."
And he takes musical product placement to new heights with advertorial anthem Corona and Lime, making Nelly's recent rhapsody about his Air Jordans seem positively understated.
But perhaps the biggest crime of this album, with former Chili Pepper and reality TV star Dave Navarro.
At least Navarro can claim to have been in a decent band before selling out. Unlike Shwayze and Adler, who catalogued the making of this album and their quest for fame in the MTV reality series Buzzin'.
