The rising star was reportedly taken to Hollywood's celeb-friendly Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre for

treatment

of substantial injures to his left hand, as well as a head injury.

LaBeouf hit the headlines after rolling his car on Sunday morning.

Reports say the actor was trying to make a left turn at a West Hollywood intersection when his pickup collided with another vehicle.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Wolf said: "It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest."

The actor was then arrested for misdemeanor DUI and subsequently released.

Of LaBeouf's injuries, his mouthpiece, Melissa Kates, said in a statement to the media:

"Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008.

"Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of

Transformers 2

within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time. "

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, take a butcher's at the damage done to LaBeouf's pickup below.

It's not a good look is it.

The guy's obviously lucky to be alive. What a waste. What on earth possessed him to drink and drive? Surely he's got hired minions to cart him around?

uhh...there's such thing as a back door you jerks.

In conclusion...That goes to show you that you can't believe anything you watch on TV or read in magazines. Cause people will make up BS without even knowing the facts. Hey Media! Why don't you gather facts, check them, and then give the public the truth? That might work. Oh no...I forgot. You make too much money telling LIES.

Needless to say, I WAS there for my brother on his birthday because he is my best friend and NOTHING comes before family."
