According to Ozzy Osbourne’s death certificate, he died from “cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction” on July 22 (local time) at their Buckinghamshire home.
His funeral procession through Birmingham took place on July 30 (local time), and Ozzy Osbourne’s private funeral was held at the Osbournes’ estate the next day, where he was laid to rest next to a lake on the property.
Months afterwards, Sharon Osbourne, 73, recalled her final evening with the “Prince of Darkness” and revealed his final words.
The star – who insisted she will “never, ever” remarry – told close pal, 60-year-old broadcaster Piers Morgan on his Uncensored YouTube show: “He was up and down to the bathroom all night, and it was like 4.30, and he said ‘Wake up’.
“I said, ‘I’m already bloody awake, you’ve woken me up.’ And he said, ‘Kiss me.’ And then he said ‘Hug me tight’.
“I can’t help wondering if I should have, could I have? If only I’d have told him I loved him more. If only I’d have held him tighter. And he went downstairs, worked out for 20 minutes and passed away.”
Ozzy Osbourne had a heart attack, and Sharon Osbourne – who credited their three children, Aimee Osbourne, 42, Kelly Osbourne, 41, and Jack Osbourne, 40, for helping her through the terrible time following his death – “knew instantly” that her husband had passed away.
Sharon Osbourne – who “would have just gone with Ozzy” if it was not for their children’s support – recalled: “I ran downstairs, and there he was, and they were trying to resuscitate him, and I’m like, ‘Don’t – just leave him. Leave him. You can’t. He’s gone.’
“I knew instantly he’d gone. And they tried and tried, and then they took him by helicopter to the hospital, and they tried, and it’s like, ‘He’s gone. Just leave him’.”
