Young Thug has officially cancelled his Auckland City Limits appearance just days out from his scheduled gig, following visa issues in Australia.
Organisers said in a press release that "since his Australian tour dates were cancelled we have tried to get him to honour his commitment to play in NewZealand, but to no avail. Young Thug has made the decision not to come to New Zealand."
The rapper was granted a New Zealand visitor visa on February 12. He was due to perform at Auckland City Limits on March 3, and at the Outer Limits festival at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium on March 2.
This is the second time Young Thug has cancelled on New Zealand; he was supposed to perform at Laneway last year but was forced to drop out over Australian visa issues.
On the plus side, the change will see Kiwi rapper Scribe take his place along with P Money, and the pair are promising to deliver some of New Zealand hip hop's greatest hits including Not Many, Stand Up and Stop the Music.
This is the first major performance for Scribe since he was embroiled in legal issues, facing charges including possession of an offensive weapon, procuring or possessing methamphetamine, possession or use of methamphetamine utensils and failing to answer district court bail.
He did, however make a guest appearance during P Money's Rhythm and Vines over the New Year period, which was a hit with fans.
Scribe and P Money will play the Auckland City Limits Spark 1 stage from 5:15pm to 6:15pm this Saturday. Young Thug will be replaced at Outer Limits by Alison Wonderland.
