Grammy Award-winner Sam Smith has posted a series of scenic photos of New Zealand on his Instagram account, to more than 3.5 million followers.
Smith enjoyed a day off at Piha Beach on Auckland's west coast yesterday, ahead of his two Auckland shows at Vector Arena on Wednesday and Thursdaynight.
In another post, he wrote: "Travelling is to me one of the most important things in life. It's of the main reasons why I chose this career path. What's the point in living on this earth and not seeing it!!!! I am so aware thou that many people don't get opportunities to see places like this and would love to!! Deep chats, real chats."
Smith enjoyed a picnic at the beach and a hike around Lion Rock as part of his day off. The singer has recently taken up a new health regime, which has seen him lose 6kg in two weeks.
Later, the singer returned to Auckland City where he had dinner at Ortolana in Britomart, wrapping up in one of the restaurant's signature blankets.
