Rugby 08 (PS2)

Pros: The physics engine that made Rugby 06 so effective has thankfully been left alone and the few tweaks that have been made improve the game, especially for more advanced players. Some modest visual improvements and a fresh soundtrack add atmosphere.

Cons: It would have been nice to see the Rugby franchise given a next-generation make-over, but there's no PS3 or Xbox 360 version. There's not even a version for the old Xbox.

Verdict: A by-the-numbers refresh of a local favourite that will no doubt ride the coming wave of World Cup fever.
