Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes got down on one knee during a gig in Australia to ask for his girlfriend's hand in marriage.
The singer asked Tuesday Cross, who occasionally sings backing vocals and plays keyboard for the band, to come out from behind her instrument during theencore of their show near Perth on Tuesday night.
Jesse then got down on one knee and pulled out a ring and said, "Tuesday, will you marry me?", and the rapturous crowd cheered when Tuesday responded "Yes". According to Australian website theMusic, Tuesday spent the remainder of the show in the wings on the phone.
However, it is thought the proposal was all for show, and they were already engaged, as Jesse had posted a picture of the couple in a field on Instagram earlier in March with the caption, "I asked Tuesday to marry me......she said YES!.......she said Yes!"
The 43-year-old's happy news comes just months after he was caught up in the November, 2015 terror attacks in Paris. The band were performing at the Bataclan venue when 89 people were shot and killed. They have since returned to France for a show, and victims of the attack were given tickets for free.
Jesse, a devout Christian and ordained minister with the Universal One Church, previously told theMusic that he takes marriage very seriously and he will refuse to marry couples who don't.
"Marriage is a holy contract that has been given to us by God and it's not a f**king joke by any stretch of the imagination," he said. "If I don't feel like the couples are ready to take this s**t seriously then I'm really not interested, in any way, in being a part of it...
"Because what they're asking me to do is stand before God and ask for his endorsement of their union... I'm gonna have to stand before God when I die and explain to him all my actions, and there's some s**t I just don't wanna have to explain."
