Robert Redford is seriously considering shutting down his Sundance Film Festival, because the annual Utah bash has become too big.
The 79-year-old movie great, who launched the independent film festival in 1978, fears the event has grown to near-uncontrollable levels.
"I don't know if there will be a festival (inthe future)," he tells Closer magazine. "It's gotten so big, how long can it continue to expand without convulsing?"
During this year's festival, Redford said he was thinking about splitting Sundance into several events in a bid to cut back on the traffic and overcrowding complaints surrounding his annual Park City event.
"I'm starting to hear some negative comments about how crowded it is and how difficult it is to get from venue to venue when there's traffic and people in the streets and so forth," he said.
