Southbound will have more than 300 exclusive RSD releases, an exhibition of photos taken at Zwines and of the late 70s Auckland punk scene by Jeremy Templer, and live music from 2pm from Stretch and Ghost Town, plus there will be free coffee and baking until midday.
Real Groovy
369 Queen St, Auckland.
Real Groovy is "critical of the increasing commercialisation of Record Store Day", so its giving back to the people with live performances, freebies, giveaways and some bargain deals.
Taco Loco NZ and You're Welcome Coffee are serving up food and coffee while Karma Cola and Red Bull will keep everyone hydrated, and there will be live performances from Badcorporation, Oscar Dowling, Echo Ohs, X-Features and Contenders.
Slowboat Records
183 Cuba St, Wellington.
Slowboat is bringing an array of official RSD limited releases as well as its first RSD in-house release.
It'll have live music from French For Rabbits, and Teeth, who are celebrating the release of their self-titled debut album through the Slow Boat Records label.
There will also be a raffle, and some spot prize giveaways.
Marbecks
Queens Arcade, 34 Queen St, Auckland.
Marbecks is not holding back on the live performances. On the line-up so far is Princess Chelsea, Lydia Cole, Tom Cunliffe and Galaxy Bear, plus its got more surprises to be announced.
