Actress Rebel Wilson has sent the Kardashians flowers in an attempt to smooth over some "prompted" comments she made about the family.
The Bridesmaids star recently told Australian breakfast radio team Kyle and Jackie O she refused to present an award alongside reality TV stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner asshe deems them "superficial". Now she's taken to Twitter to clarify the remarks, insisting there's no bad blood.
"I'd be very happy to debate the Kardashians anywhere / anytime / any topic," she wrote.
"Or maybe their publicist can just stop the smear campaign against me because I made one prompted comment about them on Australian radio?
The controversy started when Wilson, Kylie and Kendall were asked to hand the prize for Best Hip-Hop Video to Nicki Minaj at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.
"I got asked to present with Kendall and Kylie at the recent MTV VMAs... I said no, I said I'd do it myself," she explained on the radio show. "Not that you hate any of them individually but... What they stand for is totally against what I stand for. They seem a bit superficial and their careers aren't really based on talent... And I know they're super popular, but I'm all about personality and working hard to get to where I am."
This isn't the only controversy the 35-year-old star has been marred in of late, as she was forced to do a lot of explaining after it was revealed she'd taken six years off her age. People were shocked when they found out she was actually in her mid-30s but the star insists it's just the way the industry works.
"Being an actress it affects women more than men in terms of ageism and sexism so to be called out by the press on something most sensible business-minded people would have done in my position, it was a bit hurtful," she told Who magazine.
"When you're an actor, you have what's called a playing range; to me, it's not really beneficial having your age written anyway."
