Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has dismissed suggestions she lip-syncs her live performances.
The Fancy star was asked about her vocals at shows by fans on Twitter who suggested she does not rap live, and instead mimes along to a pre-recorded track.
However, Azalea fired back at the comments, insisting lip-syncingis just for pop stars with energetic dance routines.
"I've ... never lip synced on stage," she tweeted."Even if pop girls do, to an extent its (sic) fine if ur dancing. I don't think there is a NEED for a rapper to lip songs.
"Why would a rapper walking around on stage talking in rhythm need to lip the song? There is no need to do that ... Sometimes I also think ppl (people) get confused between lipping and having a backing track with adlibs, echoes etc to make it fuller," Azalea wrote.
The rapper regularly interacts with her fans via social media, but recently complained to officials at Twitter after her page was flooded with explicit snaps.
Bosses behind the social networking website posted a message to users declaring they have updated their rules on "abuse and hateful conduct", and the star responded by making a complaint about rude pictures being posted on her timeline.
In a message aimed at Twitter executives, she wrote: "How about all the exposed p**** on my timeline ... when will u (sic) guys cut back on that?"
Earlier this week the 25-year-old teased her six million followers with a soundcloud clip of her new track Azillion.
"4 MY RATZ," she tweeted. Ratz is the name the music star has given her fans.
The Aussie rapper, who got engaged to Los Angeles Lakers star Nick Young last year, will soon release her second album Digital Distortian with Young, aka Swaggy P, set to make an appearance on the record.
