UPDATED:

Celebrity socialite and heirhead

Paris Hilton

's world descended into chaos over the weekend after police were called to her Hollywood home, following reports of a domestic with her boyfriend.

TMZ.com reported that cops were called to Hilton and boyfriend

Doug Reinhardt

's Los Angeles home of over an alleged noise complaint. Neighbours had grown anxious for the socialite's wellbeing after hearing bloodcurdling screams emanating from their passion pad.

But the screaming match they heard was not what it appeared to be. Someone had played a rather cruel prank on the fame-seeking celebutante...

Doggie drama...

Hilton screamed like a banshee after someone made a prank call to her and claimed that her prized pooch, toy woofer/ankle biter

Tinkerbell

, had been hit by a car and was lying dead on Mulholland Drive.

And that's when Hilton howled in horror and freaked out as Reinhardt tried to calm her down.

"Last night, my girlfriend, Paris, got a prank phone call from someone pretending that her dog Tinkerbell was let out of her house and it was [run] over," Reinhardt told Access Hollywood.

"She [Paris] started screaming and crying about it, thinking it was true."

Apparently the prank caller had said: "

Tinkerbell is dead-we just found it on Mulholland Drive

."

He adds that his "nosy" neighbours got the wrong end of the stick when they heard the screaming and called the cops.

"About a half hour later, I'm laying in bed with my underwear on and the cops...walked right into my house," he said. "It's a quiet neighbourhood. I'm like, ‘Hey guys, how's it going?'"

Snitches say Hilton was upset and crying hysterically as cops tried to unravel the drama which eventually turned out to be a hoax.

But that wasn't the couple's only run-in with cops that week. Officers had been despatched to Hilton's new Beverly Hills pad on Monday following a vandalism complaint when a party got out of hand.

Reports claimed police had to break up the bash after a ruckus developed when partygoers left her home and allegedly vandalised vehicles outside.

"As the party let out, some of the partygoers did some vandalizing," a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told Access.

But Hilton insists there was no such party and that she was spooning her man at the time.

Please leave...

Hilton's neighbours are said to be fed up to the back teeth with her shenanigans, and want her out.

One vexed neighbour has reportedly offered to pay tens of thousands of dollars a month for her to leave the area for good.

The unnamed Hollywood Hills resident has reportedly sent a letter to Hilton's landlord and offered to pay $5,000 more than Hilton's giving him - if he turfs the love birds out.

Although Hilton has only been living at the pad for a few days, the neighbour says she's "ruining his life" because of her "loud parties, screaming and yelling, and vandalism".

Hilton's home is listed as being worth US$22,000 a month, so if her neighbour wants to put his money where his mouth is, he'll have to cough up US$27,000 if the landlord was to render Hilton homeless. That's some serious mullah.

Doggie dramas and testy neighbours aside, Reinhardt says his romance with the socialite is on the up.

"Everything's great, we're leaving tonight for the Cannes Film Festival," he added. "I'm in love, I'm head over heels in love. I've never been happier."

Hilton is currently in Cannes pimping her new doco,

Quote of the day

"I would never even think about it. The whole point to me is, if you’re gonna be number one, you better really be f****** number one. If you’re gonna be on top, you better be able to do all those things, because it’s a real privilege to be able to make music everyday, and I get away with a lot…
