Powered by the NZME newsroom, home of the Herald on Sunday, New Zealand Herald, Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport, NZ Herald Focus will give audiences news, business, sport and entertainment in the format they need, on the devices they love.
The show will initially broadcast twice daily on weekdays from NZME's state-of-the-art newsroom in Auckland.
Leading sports broadcaster Tony Veitch and Newstalk ZB's Niva Retimanu will front a 4pm edition.
It marks a busy new phase in McGoldrick's career. She is presently filling in for Megan Sellers on the ZM breakfast show, which starts at 6am.
McGoldrick said their hectic schedules mean she and Guptill have no time to have kids.
"We want to have a family one day but we don't know when and it is proving a bit tricky at the moment - especially as Martin is hardly ever here," she joked.
McGoldrick, who also works for Sky Sport, can't wait for NZ Herald Focus to start tomorrow.
"It is the first time something like this has been tried in New Zealand. Having the journalists at NZME on tap to talk about the stories will add a whole new dimension."
