David Beckham has got a new tattoo.

The soccer superstar has had the word "love" inked in script onto his left hand in an apparent tribute to his wife Victoria and four children, sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, Cruz, six, and 13-week-old daughter Harper.

The singer-turned-fashion designer posted a picture of her husband's new tattoo on her Twitter page showing baby Harper grabbing his index finger.

She tweeted: "Harper loves Daddy's new tattoo of love."

David also posted a picture of his etching on his Facebook page, writing: "You may have seen that I've got a new tattoo, hope you like it..."

The tattoo is the 36-year-old sportsman's latest addition to his collage of body art.

David has over 20 other designs, including the name of Harper etched in script along his left collarbone and a design of Jesus being carried by three cherubs, which is dedicated to his three boys.

In addition, the Los Angeles Galaxy player also has Brooklyn's name running across his lower back, Romeo on the base of his neck and Cruz across the middle of his back underneath an image of a guardian angel, as well as wife Victoria's name written in Hindu script along his forearm.

Victoria, 37, also has several tattoos, including an inscription on her back and a Roman numeral on her wrist.
