Pop star Jewel shares NZ motorcycle snaps

American singer Jewel has been instagramming her way around New Zealand.

The Foolish Games hitmaker posted photos of her arriving at Auckland's international airport, writing in the caption: "Hello New Zealand! I've missed you!"

Jewel then hit the road on a motor bike, riding up to Muriwai Beach on Auckland's west coast.

"Heading out. First time on the left side of the road, but here we go!" she wrote.

Braving the bad weather Jewel contined her journey today, writing on Instagram "Stormy day of riding here in New Zealand- but so pretty."

With no tour dates lined up, it seems the star is just visiting Aotearoa for a holiday, leaving on April 18.

Jewel also tweeted her regrets of missing Ed Sheeran.

Sheeran, who has just wrapped up his tour of New Zealand tweeted, "Last day of Oz/NZ tour today, off to South American next, never been, can't wait."

Jewel replied writing: "Damn, just heading to NZ now. Big fan."

The folk-pop star has been working on new music this year, writing on her blog that she "trying to stick to my guns about it being a raw folk record". Jewel is also hoping to release a book.

"My plan is to get them both out at the same time around September of this year."
