Get excited Adele fans, because the rumours were true: the pop superstar is coming to New Zealand for the very first time.
The woman with a once-in-a-generation voice will be here on March 23 to play one show only at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium, where her set will be aunique 360 degree, in-the-round production.
She posted a handwritten note on Instagram this morning announcing the show that said: "Kia ora New Zealand! I wouldn't miss you for the world. I'll see you in Auckland. Can't wait."
There will be reserved seating on both the field and the grandstands and the idea is that, even though it's a huge stadium show, it will still feel intimate.
Adele is easily one of the biggest artists in the world, having sold in excess of two million albums in Australasia and picked up multiple trophies at the Grammy, Brit, Oscar and Golden Globe awards.
She's just about to finish a massive world tour about which reviewers have had nothing but good things to say.
The New York Times called it "A pure Adele moment: a pop triumph immediately brought to earth by shared human frailty. Adele's gifts could separate her from more ordinary humans. Instead, she forges bonds."
