Continuing to list his problems, he wrote: “6. Recovering in hospital. “7. Crutches for 6 weeks. 8. No long-haul flying for 12 weeks. 9. New Year off to a cracking start!” He jokingly added: “10. I blame Donald Trump.”
Since announcing the injury, Morgan has received support from celebrity friends. Lorraine Kelly, the ITV presenter, commented on the post: “You daft bugger – hope you are Okay!”
Eamonn Holmes, the journalist and broadcaster, added: “Well, sincere sympathy my friend but I am the expert in this field …. if you want advice or a visitor! Lucozade and grapes?”
Monty Panesar, the former England cricketer, wrote: “Wishing you a quick recovery so you can celebrate Arsenal’s success!”
Morgan’s previous injuries include broken ribs in Australia in 2013, when former Australian cricketer Brett Lee bowled at him during a net session, and more broken ribs in 2017, when he injured three in a fall.
Morgan’s post is also similar to one he made in 2019 when he was admitted to hospital for gastritis and duodenitis, and blamed “vegan sausage rolls, Brexit and Donald Trump”.
It is not known whether he will continue to present his current show, Piers Morgan Uncensored on YouTube, or take a break to recover fully.
