Ex-American Idol judge

Paula Abdul

made a frantic and tearful call to police on Valentine's Day, alleging that her boyfriend wouldn't let her out of his car.

Gossip website TMZ.com

of a 911 call the TV personality made during a Valentine's Day drive with an unidentified man - believed to be her current beau.

During the call, which was placed at 4:35pm on Monday, February 14, Abdul can be heard screaming and crying, "I wanna go, and he won't let me!" while travelling on the 101 freeway near Santa Barbara.

She then tells the driver: "Are you gonna drop me off 'cause I have emergency on the phone."

Shortly after that she says, "He's dropping me off."

Police then spoke with Abdul an hour after the heated bust-up, and she insisted it was just an argument that got out of hand. She did not want to file a police report.

A rep for Abdul said: "Arguments with loved ones are often times heated. After the call was made everything was worked out."

Sheen's cash cow

Embattled star

Charlie Sheen

is a phenomenon. No, really.

Sheen joined social networking site Twitter on Tuesday, and has amassed (at the last count) a whopping 1,003,000 followers in a mere 25 hours and 17 minutes - a record.

The

star now has the honour of being a Guinness World Record holder for hitting the 1 million followers mark the fastest,

says The Hollywood Reporter

.

And what does Sheen get out of using Twitter? Mullah.

He tells TMZ

that he sees the microblogging service as a "cash cow".

Sheen's "primary motivation" is to amass a fortune through advertising, reports the website. He's following

's lead, who now charges as much as $25,000 to mention a brand or product in her tweets.

Given the fact that he's currently unemployed (the current season of

Two And A Half Men

has been shelved), it's no real surprise that Sheen's got his eye on alternative means to fill his wallet.

And as

's running commentary over her shenanigans.

Lohan, who is fresh out of rehab and looking at potential jail time over the alleged theft of that pesky necklace, wants daddy to pull his head in and put it back in his purse.

"I am sorry that my father has continually chosen to speak publicly about our relationship, my mother, my siblings, and my professional team,"

Lohan tells Radar Online

.

"I am working through my recovery day-by-day and find his public media bouts unnecessary and damaging."

Lohan's statement follows hot on the heels of news that papa Lohan has signed up for TV show

"Michael is absolutely 100 per cent sober. He hasn't been using drugs or alcohol, but he is being treated for anger management issues. Michael has tremendous admiration for

Suffice to say, the move has "shocked and upset" LiLo.

Penn, Johansson fling rumours fly

Is romance really on the menu for

Sean Penn

And

Scarlett Johansson

?

Let's look at the evidence.

Johansson, 26, who split from human washboard husband

Ryan Reynolds

in December, reportedly first hooked up with Penn, 50, back in January.

Sources told UsMagazine that the pair were spotted at Chateau Marmont in LA in early January while she filmed

We Bought a Zoo

with

Matt Damon

.

"Their first hook-up was in Scarlett's Bungalow," the source said, claiming they bonded over a desire to collaborate on some charity work in Haiti.

"Scarlett first reached out to Sean when she was planning to visit Haiti with Oxfam," said the source. "She knew Sean was living there in a tent and turned to him for advice."

Speculation of a possible romance re-surfaced in February when the pair were spotted together at a party celebrating

Black Swan

in LA. "They were flirting with each other all night, pretty much ignoring everyone else,"

a source told People

at the time.

Johansson quickly shot down the rumours, insisting that she and former Mr.

Madonna

were "just friends".

"Scarlett and Sean are not dating - they have been friends for years,"

her rep told E! News

. "Nothing more, nothing less. They have been talking over the last few months regarding Haiti Relief and Scarlett's upcoming trip to Haiti as Oxfam's Global Ambassador."

And just this week the twosome

were snapped

enjoying a cosy lunch together at Cuban restaurant Versailles in Los Angeles.

Johansson had her feet under Penn's table. She was snapped resting her foot in Penn's lap.

And things got even hotter when the pair jetted off to Mexico on Tuesday for a quickie - a day-long trip, people!

According to reports

, the pair left on a private jet from Van Nuys airport on Tuesday morning, and were spotted having dinner in Cabo San Lucas that night.

Sean and ScarJo. What's the verdict?
