P Diddy takes a tumble on stage

First Madonna tripped on her cape, now P Diddy has fallen into a hole while performing on stage.

The rapper was performing at the BET Awards in LA on Sunday night when he fell straight into a hole on stage at the Microsoft Theater.

The opening in the ground was there for rapper Lil' Kim to rise up through, which she had done just moments before Diddy's fall.

However Diddy definitely saw the funny side, taking to Instagram to share a photo of his fall with his followers.

"I was getting so loose I fell! LOL, but really though I busted my ass! #finnaGetLoose #AppleMusic ... Puff Daddy & The Family feat @pharrell ... if you ever fall down, get your ass up and fight! But really though, I crack up every time I see this **! It's like I f***ing disappeared. HAAAAAA! I was scared as f*** but I had to get up! #BADBOY," he wrote.

It was just a few months ago that Madonna had a fall during a performance at an awards ceremony.

The veteran singer was performing at the BRIT Awards in February when she fell on her Armani cape which had been tied too tight and didn't come off as it was supposed to.

It seems it just wouldn't be an awards ceremony these days without a performer taking a tumble on stage.
