The life and death of colourful Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar will be the subject of two Hollywood films, Los Angeles press reports say.
Escobar is to be the latest biographical drama by Hollywood legend Oliver Stone, director Platoon.
The leader of the notorious "Medellin cartel" drug syndicatewas one of the most feared drug mafiosi. He was gunned down by Colombian forces in December 1993 at the age of 44 in Medellin, the northwestern Colombian city where his drug operations were headquartered.
Meanwhile another film, Killing Pablo, based on the book of the same name, is set to begin production with Javier Bardem and Christian Bale in the leading roles, Daily Variety reports.
