Back in 2017 it was tipped that Obi-Wan would be making his return in a feature film or even possibly a movie trilogy.
But plans were thrown into doubt after the lacklustre performance of 2018's Han Solo spin-off Solo, with reports both planned Obi-Wan and Boba Fett films were put on hold by Disney as a result
An Obi-Wan series is just one of three Star Wars projects planned for Disney+. A series starring Rogue One characters Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and K-2S0 (Alan Tudyk) is also confirmed.
Also heading to Disney+ is The Mandalorian, which follows events after Return of the Jedi through the eyes of a Mandalorian gunfighter on the rim planets. It will be directed by Disney favourite Jon Favreau.
Besides Star Wars, Disney has plenty of other big projects planned for its foray into streaming services.
A remake of The Lady and The Tramp, as well as a miniseries each for Marvel's Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), will be featured on Disney+.
There will also be a High School Musical TV series and Phineas and Ferb movie.
Along with new projects, all of Disney's vault is expected to be available on the streaming service, which is expected to launch later this year.
