NZ's top videos of 2017: We love us some Ed Sheeran

Kiwis watched a lot of Ed Sheeran videos this year.

A song sung entirely in te reo Maori was the clip Kiwis watched the most on YouTube this year.

But mostly, today's stats from the video streaming giant proves Kiwis love us some Ed Sheeran.

The song Wairua by Maimoa Music topped YouTube's local viewing chart for 2017.

Other videos in the top 10 include Ed Sheeran's Carpool Karaoke clip, A bad lip reading of Donald Trump's inauguration, celebrities reading mean tweets and ping pong trick shots.

Sheeran also scored the No. 10 spot for Shape of You, a song which also scored the No. 1 most watched music videospot.

Shape of You scored two spots in the top 10, with the lyric video sitting at No. 10.
