When a kindergarten teacher forked out $400 for her family to see a team of petrol-fuelled daredevils perform Nitro Circus Live at the weekend, she didn't think the show would finish halfway through.
But that's what Anne Setter says happened - and Nitro Circus Live promoter Mike Porra says shewon't be getting a refund.
The show, on Sunday night at Auckland's QBE stadium, featured performers doing stunts on various contraptions including dirt bikes, BMX bikes, quad bikes and more, and was scheduled to run for 105 minutes, plus an interval.
But rain meant the event was cancelled before the scheduled finish.
Mr Porra said the majority of the show, including all the big segments, had already been performed and it was cancelled for safety reasons.
"We have received hundreds of positive emails and social media posts from people thanking us for doing the best we could in dangerous conditions," he said.
Ms Setter said she bought four tickets at $99 each for her family to see the show - their second time at the event live.
About 6.15pm - approximately 45 minutes into the performance, which began at 5.30pm - she said it was over.
