Nicole Kidman reveals which A-list leading man was the worst kisser

Nicole Kidman has spilt the tea on which of her A-list co-stars was the lousiest kisser.

The star appeared on yesterday’s episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, hosted by comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, where she revealed which leading man holds the unfortunate title, according to InStyle.

The 56-year-old said she struggled to kiss her Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgard, who apparently had a fondness for eating a particularly pungent snack.

“When Alexander Skarsgard ate a falafel sandwich before we did the scenes in Big Little Lies, I’m like, ‘No, no, no, Alex. I’m meant to be into you and kissing you – put away the falafel now’,” she said, according to InStyle.

“I’m sure he did not eat a falafel ever again. I said, ‘No more falafel. Not before you kiss, not before you make love’.”

She told the hosts poor oral hygiene is a “deal-breaker” for her, even if “you’re the most gorgeous, gorgeous guy”.

“If I say, ‘Breathe on me’, and I have to recoil, yikes, I’m out. You could not offer me enough money.”

The Sun reported the actor even joked that losing her sense of smell during Covid brought her some relief.

“Finally, I’m free,” she said.

When asked by Yang and Rogers who the best-smelling celebrity was, Kidman nominated pop star Rihanna, saying: “We don’t need to unwind it or decipher it, just know that it’s all true. It’s intoxicating, like, I will follow you around.”

Kidman and Skarsgard both won Emmys for their portrayals of married couple Celeste and Perry Wright in the psychological drama Big Little Lies.

Their performances were widely praised for portraying the dark reality behind seemingly “perfect” households, including an abusive and toxic relationship.

Variety reported last September the series would return for a third season, with Kidman and Reese Witherspoon set to reprise their roles.

Speaking to Variety this week, Kidman said she spent much of last year “in my shell” but was now “moving toward what’s good”.

Kidman filed for divorce from her husband of 19 years, Keith Urban, on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences.

“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that,” she said.

“Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”

Kidman’s new series, Scarpetta, was released on Amazon Prime Video in New Zealand this week.
