Nicole Kidman has delivered the perfect acceptance speech at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards - but there was one small oversight that stuck out to some viewers.
Kidman picked up the best lead actress gong for her role in acclaimed series Big Little Lies - marking her first win atthe awards.

Taking to the stage to accept the gong, Kidman teared up as she thanked her husband Keith Urban and her children.
"I have a huge artistic family who supported me throughout all my ups and downs," she said. "You have been so loyal to me throughout my whole life thank you for that."
"I have two little girls - Sunnie and Faith. And my darling Keith who I asked to help me pursue this artistic path. And they have sacrificed so much for it.

"So this is yours. I just want my two little girls to have this on their shelf and to look at it and go, 'Every time my mumma didn't put me to bed it's because of this - (at least) I got something!'"
While viewers lapped up the sentimental speech, some did find it interesting Kidman only referred to her two children - Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret - with husband Keith Urban, and not her two adopted children Isabella Cruise, 24, and Connor Cruise, 22, from her marriage to Tom Cruise.

Elsewhere in the speech, Kidman, thanked award voters for acknowledging the importance of Big Little Lies, saying the dramatic miniseries "shone a light on domestic abuse".
"It is a complicated, insidious disease. It exists far more than we allow ourselves to know," she said. "It is filled with shame and secrecy. And by you acknowledging me with this award it shines a light on it even more."

Big Little Lies, based on the novel by Australian author Liane Moriarty, has been a big winner at the awards - picking up the gongs for outstanding limited series, best supporting actor and actress and best directing in a limited series.
Set in upscale Monterey, a seaside community just south of California's Silicon Valley, Big Little Lies starts with a murder and flashes back to how it got there. The mystery isn't just who did it, but also who's dead, the identity of the victim obscured from the audience.
A second season of the show has not been confirmed.
