Nicolas Cage paid for his son to fly in a private jet when he got married last month.
The actor's 20-year-old son Weston Cage - his child with actress Christina Fulton - married Nikki Williams in New Orleans on April 24 and the Drive Angry star paid for the coupleto fly back to Los Angeles in luxury after first treating them to a four-night stay at a "four diamond" hotel in the city and covering the costs for several guests to attend the nuptials.
According to gossip website TMZ, he also provided the cash for a breathtaking fireworks display at the end of the wedding.
The 47-year-old actor's generosity comes after it was revealed last month he owes over US$620,000 (NZ$776,335) in unpaid gift taxes.
He is alleged to have given a total of US$1.8 (NZ$2.25) million to various people between 2004 and 2009, but did not pay the required taxes, according to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Under federal tax laws a 35 per cent tax must be paid by the giver on any large cash gifts.
In 2009, it was revealed Cage owed US$14 (NZ$17.5) million in unpaid taxes and fees for the years 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007.
In December 2010, the Hollywood actor made a US$360,545 (NZ$451,438) tax payment to the US government to cover owed back taxes from 2002 to 2004.
Last month, Nicolas was arrested in New Orleans for allegedly pushing his wife Alice Kim - with whom he has a five-year-old son Kal-El - during a drunken row.
