English actress Kate Beckinsale has sent hearts racing after she posted a very steamy photo of herself in a bathroom — wearing nothing but a semi-sheer plunging leotard.

The 45-year-old had fans in awe over her figure and standout features, which were perfectly moulded by the black glittery and lacy one-piece.

She posted the snap just a day after calling herself a "horrible fossil" — but clearly her fans don't think so, with many questioning her age, news.com.au reports.

"Can I just say I wish I look this good when I'm older. She never ages!"

"I mean. Can we talk about her body for a sec?" one fan posted, while another asked, "How does she do it!!"

She showed her humorous side, captioning the post: "Brief stint as bathroom attendant during which I handed out small towels and very brief inspirational dancercise tutorials."

And the positive comments kept on rolling in.

"God you are stunning."

"That is just fire girl!!!"

"Still the hottest babe on the planet."

The snap comes as her new love interest, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, who is 20 years her junior, defended their age gap on the show's Weekend Update.

Host Colin Jost asked Pete, 25, if he had anything else he wanted to talk about "like a new girlfriend situation".

"Oh yeah. Apparently, people have a crazy fascination with our age difference, but it doesn't really bother us," Pete responded.

"But then again, I'm new to this, so if you have questions about a relationship with a big age difference just ask Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Statham, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, Jeff Goldblum, Scott Disick …" — and the list went on, name-dropping another 17 male celebrities.

Kate and Pete, who is the former fiance of Ariana Grande, debuted their relationship at a Madison Square Garden hockey game in January.

Pete has also hit out at the double standards and slammed how it was fine for men to date younger people but it wasn't the same for women.

Pete was engaged to Ariana, while Kate was married to Underworld director Len Wiseman from 2004 to 2016.
